WABC-TV New York’s Channel 7 Eyewitness News provided fantastic coverage last evening, July 7, of the lawsuit filed in the New York Supreme Court
against the New York City Police Department and other defendants charged with aiding and abetting the illegal practice of chicken Kaporos in Brooklyn, New
York.
Attorney Nora Constance Marino, Esq., who filed the case along with Jessica Astrof, Esq., was interviewed by Channel 7 Eye Witness News in her law office, along with plaintiffs Rina Deych and Lisa Renz (both suing individually and also as members of the Alliance to End Chickens as Kaporos).
Their vigorous testimony and video footage of Kaporos aired in the broadcast is must-watch TV!
The Alliance to End Chickens as Kaporos is extremely grateful to Channel 7 Eyewitness News for its courageous coverage of our lawsuit to prohibit the
illegal practice of chicken Kaporos in Brooklyn and elsewhere.
Please share this video and post a supportive comment to WABC-TV Channel 7. Thank you!
The Alliance to End Chickens as Kaporos is a project of
United Poultry Concerns.
Formed in New York City in June 2010, the Alliance is an association of groups and individuals who seek to
replace the use of chickens in Kaporos ceremonies with money or other non-animal symbols of atonement.
The Alliance does not oppose Kaporos per se, only the cruel and unnecessary use of chickens in the ceremony.
