David Rosenfeld is a member of the Orthodox Jewish community who has spent years protesting the use of chickens in Kaporos rituals in Brooklyn, NY, urging compassion for chickens and all creatures. Every year, David rescues two or more chickens from Kaporos and places them in a good home. In 2009, David Rosenfeld was featured on the NPR show “Swinging Chicken Ritual Divides Orthodox Jews”:

The Alliance to End Chickens as Kaporos is a project of United Poultry Concerns comprising an association of individuals and groups who seek to replace the cruel use of chickens in Kaporos ceremonies with money or other compassionate symbols of atonement.
